Apparently, the person that sent out the e-mail about the loss of art school electives being lost because of school-district decisions was somewhat misinformed or something because we got another e-mail in the early afternoon saying that there was no need to flood the usually informal monthly chat/coffee with the principal of the arts magnet school.
Really, all the e-mail said was that there was no need for parents to show up to voice their opinion on the matter. That's all it said. Just a few words...a sentence fragment...saying we shouldn't show up for that purpose.
It reminded me of that character Gilda Radner used to play on SNL's weekend update, Emily Litella. You remember, right? This misinformed elderly woman would be introduced to discuss the topic of something like "Violence on Television" and would go on a loud and lengthy discourse about "violins on television" (or one of my favorites: "What is all this fuss I hear about the Supreme Court decision on a "deaf" penalty? It's terrible! Deaf people have enough problems as it is!") and when she would get to the apex of her rant, Jane Curtin would say, "Emily, you're supposed to be discussing "violence on television." Then she'd go, "Ooooooooooh. That's something very different." And she'd look sweetly into the camera and say, "Never mind."
That's kind of how I read the 2nd e-mail.
