Early Morning...April Four...

(well, we'll forgive Bono for his poetic license. It was actually early EVENING, April 4)

...shots rang out from the Memphis sky.
...three blasts
...they took your life
...but they could not take your...

Excuse me if I suggest that those blasts took the life of one of the most influential Americans of all-time. You can say what you want about his alleged character flaws...but in no way do they diminish the reality that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his dream...

...are the very highest ideals Americans should hold dear. And I have to say that, at least in these parts, this is the quietest 40th anniversary remembrance of something that should be be a bit more on significantly recognized.

And today, I'm sad that those three blasts that rang out from the Memphis sky took his life.
