It's Like Rain On Your Wedding Day

They are too young.
They don't have much of a plan.
They haven't known each other long enough.
They don't make enough money.
They don't have understanding of what they're doing.
They have parents with raised eyebrows.

But she's got the dress. He's rented a tuxedo.
She's got bridesmaids. He's got groomsmen.
They've rented a wedding and reception hall.
They've got the minister to perform the ceremony.

They're getting married today.

My hope is that 50 years from now at their golden anniversary party, and they'll raise a toast that begins something like, "Everybody said it would never work, but here we are."

That is my truest, deepest hope for them both.
