I had a few blog topics started/deleted, and then got an early morning e-mail in which the necessary response has quickly hijacked my thought patterns. So, I'll leave you with a quote from the Christianity Today article about Donald Miller that I couldn't find posted on-line yet (written by Patton Dodd):
"Miller says that fans of Blue [Like Jazz] are 'people who don't want to be in evangelical culture but don't want to reject it either.' He gives voice to their cultural hang-ups and agrees there is a problem--Yeah, Christianity can be lame that way--but quickly suggests they move on."
So, a couple of comment topics to choose from:
First, did you like Blue Like Jazz or not? Why?
Second, what are aspects of the evangelical culture that you like? That you dislike?
And/or...
Third, what do you think are some of our "cultural hang-ups" that we need to "move on" from?
Sorry, but nasty e-mails can be a real creativity squelcher.
