What I Read Today: Psalms 20-26.
What Stood Out Today About What I Read: Psalm 23, A psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd,
I lack nothing.
He takes me to lush pastures, he leads me to refreshing water.
He restores my strength.
He leads me down the right paths for the sake of his reputation.
Even when I must walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no danger, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff reassure me.
You prepare a feast before me in plain sight of my enemies.
You refresh my head with oil; my cup is completely full.
Surely your goodness and faithfulness will pursue me all my days,
and I will live in the Lord’s house for the rest of my life.
Random Thoughts About What I Read: (a little artistic diversion, if you will)
A Psalm of Man.
I am my own guide,
Striving is constant.
I stand in a chamber of white noise
I'm at the mercy of rushing rivers.
My soul is at war.
I blaze my own trails for the sake of fortune and fame.
Even while I run in the rat-race and stall in the gridlock,
I have no worries, for I maintain control.
My talent and my resolve they comfort me.
I build socioeconomic walls to insulate from the riff-raff;
The sweat of my brow is perfume;
My cup is a sieve.
Surely comforts and vanities will lead me all the days of my life,
as I dwell on this earth for decades.
The contrast is a reminder, isn't it? It was for me...
Your thoughts?

Never would have made this comparison. Was that a poem you wrote?
Yep, Lori.
Can't stop thinking about this little poem. An excellent reminder in deed. Incredibly accurate comparison IMHO
Thanks.
